"Satan, so glad you could make it. I know how busy your schedule is, though it's nice you made the time to have this meeting," Asmodeus said, standing aside to allow Satan to enter his palace. "I assume Yogirt will be attending as well?"

"He is because I have a feeling this meeting might get on my nerves," Satan said as he entered the palace. Even with his form in a smaller size the Wrath Sin still stood a few feet taller that Asmodeus. He was sure the Lust Sin wanted to talk about the trial once again. Something Beelzebub had been bugging him about nonstop since it happened.

"And you'd be smart to remember who kept your kingdom from going to complete shit!" Satan would suddenly snap back already reaching his patience.

"And I'm sure my dad really appreciates all you've done to keep things running as best you can Uncle S. He's just super excited to get back to it. Lots of energy and ideas. I'm sure he means no offense."

"Not that I don't appreciate how you've helped pick up the slack but don't go forgetting who the creator is buddy. I was thrown down here and built this place from the ground up. From now on daddy's back baby! You'd be smart to respect my authority."

im thinking so so much abt the way flame instinctively lashed out on manes behalf immediately after he died. he was SO ready to kill everyone on sight even if he knew they didnt do it bc on the slight chance that they DID do it, then they needed to die. he couldnt risk letting whoever did it get away unless he was CERTAIN they didnt— and how the only one exempt from this was pangi, and it was pangi who saved zam from dying to mane and flame as well.

like idk flame does have his own beliefs and morals but in the face of keeping mane safe and making mane happy it just doesnt seem to matter to him. his loyalty is to mane, to his teammate first and foremost, and he very easily discards everything else for his sake. he doesnt seem to really consider his own morals as important as his loyalty, and he doesnt seem to really know who he is or what he wants on the server outside of being "the strongest" and "manes teammate". which is very interesting.

Reminder that Claude neglected Diana when she was pregnant because she chose the child over him and then let her die miserably, alone and in pain. We aren't talking enough about how bad Claude's treatment of his lover was when she went against his will and told him she wanted to keep the baby.

He ignored her for months unless he wanted to grab her to yell at her, pressure her into changing her mind, accuse her of playing with his heart, and when she was about to pass away, he couldn't even bother to move his ass from his throne and bid her goodbye.

He was the best magician in the kingdom up to date and didn't even try to help Diana through her complicated pregnancy. Even if it was known the delivery would have killed her for certain, he could have at least attempted things to alleviate her pain or made the process of the birth easier. Seeing how useless the court magicians were during Athy's mana-sickness and couldn't even numb her pain or put her to sleep, Diana must have been giving birth to her baby in agony in horrible conditions. Were even specialists present? I saw no bodies of magicians, doctors or even nurses lying among the corpses of the murdered concubines and servants of the Ruby Palace, yet I find it highly unlikely that Claude would have spared their lives. After all they had failed at their job in his eyes. If Claude had summoned once in a lifetime geniuses from all corners of the world to his palace and then killed them after Diana's death, then this must have caused a public outrage which should have affected Obelia's international relations with their neighbouring countries negatively.

I wouldn't have taken Claude as the kind of person who would deny his lover medical attention out of personal slight, I would have assumed he would have searched the entire continent for a specialist who could deliver the baby safely, yet Claude not even sending her a single magician, because he viewed Diana as a lost cause and felt offended by her choice, could fall in line with his character. Secretly he may have wanted her to suffer as punishment for her "betrayal" of him. The thought that he could make her departure from this world more comfortable may not even have crossed his mind because she was already "dead" to him.

A year in the cells of the Ossuary, being tortured by Calivan and taunted by Zara, he's had 300+ bad days in a row and a string of confusing and stressful ones since he got out. I think we can forgive him for leaving the Ossuary with an even-shitter opinion of himself than he was captured with.

Neve (amused and unbothered): Because you're a "mage-killer"? You turned that title on the Venatori. That's a point in your favor.

I love how entirely un-put-off Neve is. She acknowledges exactly what he was driving at and answers him truthfully and with logic, without making a big deal of it or offering anything that smells like pity, knowing he'll shy away from it.

Lucanis (relaxing): I saw some of the Shadows' work before... well, anyway. Their good opinion is worth having.

That quick re-route away from talking about his capture and imprisonment. Not only is the memory painful, he's here to work and doesn't need anyone reminded that the Crow's greatest assassin was captured and spent a year in a cell directly before this.

Coda and Ichor! (Catacombtale Style!)

These two don't have a *ton* of interaction in the Main story, but since Ichor and Balance are the only two characters I've fully designed, Coda gets stuck next to him, haha!

BONUS art jumpscare:

These two actually exist in another project I'm working on too called Codex, which is basically just removing the UT aspects of Catacombtale and doing a lot more worldbuilding and character design!

Coda is older in Codex and is marked by an old God (which should get him jailed or killed, as it means for everyone else) but he hides it for years and years before he finally flees the complex he's living in to go confront the gods and stop their destructive path. Meanwhile Ichor is much the same, only he's much more ready and willing to help Coda without much prompting. Here he's also sort of a Koi Fish! (His brother is a Betta Fish)

I Attempt To Read A Book By Every BSD Character

in case you cant tell, exams are over and i have way too much free time...

PRELUDE:

so these are ones that ive read before i started this compilation, but i remember them pretty vividly so ill include them here:

the great gatsby by f scott fitzgerald

8.5/10 = ITS SO GOOD LIKE OMFG i love gatsby with all my heart and soul and will defend him until my death - some solid plot twists,,, even tho im not a fan of the chara in the show so far, the book is amazing

grapes of wrath by john steinbeck

5.5/10 = i actually read this bc of a les mis fanfic if you know you know - its not insanely good but also not insanely bad yk - tbh was all worth it for chapter 39 that chapter was a cut above the rest... ending left me with no closure and was just plain strange

crime and punishment by fyodor dostoyevsky

8/10 = i read this over a term and got super attached to it LMFAO i love all the characters so muchhhh - it kinda dragged on in parts but otherwise was so good,,, much gay subtext

9/10 = ITS SO CUTEEEEE i love the movie too i sobbed so much in parts of this book

"Beelzebub in the hotel bitches!" Beelzebub would shout after she kicked in the doors to the hotel open, though was met with silence as no one was there. "Talk about being under booked. I would've thought Charlie had this place completely booked right now."

"It was ground zero for an all out Exorcist attack which Adam died in. I wouldn't be surprised if sinners and demons alike were avoiding this place like the plague. Heaven will retaliate for what happened here," Satan said as he walked in behind Beelzebub.

"I'd call them a bunch of cowardly bitches, though I guess your average sinner or demon is as ready to throw down with angels." Beelzebub had personally be waiting eons to pick a fight.

"None of us should be. I know you ain't their biggest fan, though a war is the last thing any of us need. They've stuck to only sinners and any demon stupid enough not to bail out of the Pride Ring before Extermination starts. Let's just focus on the meeting." Satan didn't need to deal with that right now.

"Yes, thank you so much. I'll make sure someone is here tomorrow to sign off for the order. Have a wonderful day in Hell," Charlie said cheerfully as she walked into the foyer and hung up the phone. The princess then looking to see two familiar faces.

"Auntie Bee!" Charlie shouted as she ran over to Beelzebub, basically tackling her with a tight hug though didn't budge the other of course. "Dad said you and the others were going to visit, though I didn't think it'd be this soon. I'm so happy to see you after such a long time."

"Apple Pie!" Beelzebub would return the hug with all four of her arms. Only letting go when Charlie did. "I'm glad you're dad actually remembered to tell you we were coming, and I didn't come empty handed." The Gluttony Sin snapping her fingers as a gold bracelet with a honey comb that had her sigil on it appeared and floated over to the princess.

Charlie gasped in excitement at the gift, grabbing it out of the air and putting it on. "I love it Auntie Bee. I can't wait to show Vaggie. Thank you!" The princess would hug Beelzebub again which was returned. She then turned her attention to the other Sin. "Uncle S, how have you been? Nice and calm I hope."

"I've been doing well Little Apple. That anger management instructor you suggested has really been a help, even hired them on part time. This was their day off. I also took up mediation like you suggested." Satan had tried to hire Yogirt on full time, though they turned it down as they want to help as many people as possible get over their anger.

"I'm so glad to hear that. Maybe we can mediate together before you go back to Wrath." Charlie could use the time to catch up with Satan and what he's been doing. "Oh, though I guess I should offer to have someone take your luggage," the princess said before noticing they didn't have any. "You didn't pack anything?"

"Me and Satan just use magic to summon whatever we need. Easier than dragging suitcases around. I'll teach you a few spells before I leave as it's a real handy trick. Makes losing things nearly impossible." Beelzebub should seriously put a summon spell on the keys to her apartment.

"That does sound super handy Auntie Bee. Let's hope I pick it up fast." Charlie could use the spell whenever she misplaces her phone. Speaking of which it would ding as she got a text which she check. "Oh, I gotta go. The plumber is here to make sure all our pipes are good. It was so nice to see you guys again." The princess would give Beelzebub another hug before looking at Satan. Holding her arms open as she knew he wasn't much of a hugger.

"You know you're the only person who can hug me." Satan doubt he could even summon the will power to refuse hugging Charlie. The Wrath Sin getting tackled hug as soon as he said that before he watched the princess run off. "Looks like she's doing a lot better after her mom disappeared."

"I ain't surprised. Charlie's always been a tough kid so I knew it was only a matter of time before she bounced back. Anyway, I'm going to try and hunt Luci down. See how he's been doing. If you happen to see him try not to burn the place down getting pissed off."

"My temper isn't as bad as it used to be, though I do intend to give Lucifer a piece of my mind for being go for so long." Satan would make sure to keep his cool as he didn't want to destroy Charlie's hotel after all the effort she put to rebuild it.

The Modern Messiah

Christ would be crucified again if He returned for us in the modern day.

There is no seat at the table for a Man who loves despite gender, queer identity, race, religion, creed, occupation, or sins today.

There is no pew to sit upon, nor bread broken, nor wine poured for such a Man who stands before us and calls Himself the Son of God once more.

He could not be reconciled with the Messiah we know.

The modern Messiah is alabaster white, painted drops of bright red mark Him 5 times across the arms legs and ribs, and He is carved upon a cross, nailed proudly above the priest like a prized Fish, or Lamb, slaughtered and stuffed and pacified so He may not defy the teachings of religion once more.

The modern Messiah is offered no seat at the table, for the safety of sin, He is kept a spears length away, and remains upon the wall.

If a man is born once more as Jesus Christ, He would loathe the priest and cry out against the churchmen who preach violence and know only hate in their hearts.

We will seize Him with such violence just as before, we will bolt Him upon a crucifix of steel, guild Him in a crown of barbed wire, and the Son of God will die again as a bullet pierces His ribs.

Those who pray to the marble Man chained in churches dread the day those stone still eyes and lips turn upon them, to pray back.
